The rod can be used under 20% compression to form a backing under surface sealants. The rod forms the optimum sealant shape to minimise the strain and adhesion stresses on sealant when subject to movement. The closed cell construction also prevents moisture absorption. Can be used for back up material for windows and sash frames. Joints filler for pre-fabricated houses, tunnels, subways, bridges and sewerage pipes. Expansion joints for liquid reservoirs, swimming pools and dams.
