System provides a simple, quick, cost effective mechanical method for splicing or connecting rebar in tension and/or compression applications. Couplers may be used with plain or deformed bars. Couplers utilize lock-shear bolts to mechanically splice with the rebar. The heads of the lock-shear bolts are designed to shear off at a prescribed torque in order to accomplish proper installation. Eliminates bar threading and/or special bar end treatment , No special installation equipment required.
