Screed chairs create temporary, adjustable support for a screed rail during concrete slab construction. They are designed to carry a 50 mm scaffold tube used as the screed rail for roller-striker and slab-finishing operations. Chairs are typically positioned at approximately 1.5 m intervals, subject to site conditions and equipment loads. After levelling, the rail is removed, the threaded top section is unscrewed and the surface can be finished by hand.

Manufactured from 32 MPa concrete and supplied with blackened wire ties, the spacers are water-cured for 15 days and dry-cured for a further six days to develop their intended strength. Available cover sizes include CR30, CR40 and CR50 as listed in the product specification table.

Their small contact area helps minimise the visible footprint against the formwork, while the concave seat accommodates rebar from 6 mm to 50 mm.
